The Stars

STARS formed in 1974 in Adelaide and quickly built a following, but it wasn’t until it supported the Little River Band did its national career take off.

The late Andy Durant would be the head songwriter of two albums — Paradise which peaked at No. 11 on the ARIA charts in 1978 and included hit singles Look After Yourself and Back Again — and 1979’s Land of Fortune.

Tragedy befell the group at the peak of their fame, when Durant died of cancer aged just 25.

Lead singer Mick Pealing recently connected with surviving members of the band and it is hoped they will perform together one last time at their Hall of fame ceremony in August.

It has been over 35 years since The Stars last performed.
